Office Hours: Variable, By Appointment

Typically, the surgical schedule follows the following pattern:

* Consultation: A 30-minute to one-hour appointment in our Rockford-area, offices with the plastic surgeon, Dr. McAdoo. During this appointment, the patient undergoes an examination and discusses cosmetic goals, procedural options, and the surgery itself with the surgeon.
* Preoperative Coordination: The patient and office manager set up a date and time for the surgery, the patient is given instructions on surgery, and preoperative lab-work requirements are taken care of.
* Surgery: Usually performed at an accredited, Rockford-area surgical facility or outpatient hospital by Dr. McAdoo. Depending on the procedure, the surgery can take anywhere from one to five or more hours. The patient should have someone to take him or her home and take care of him or her during the next several days.
* Postoperative visits and rehabilitation: Usually the patient comes in to the offices during the first week for removal of stitches and for a postoperative check-up with the plastic surgeon. Another appointment is scheduled for a month following surgery, and a final follow-up visit will be made between six months and a year later.

All of these stages will be performed at our Rockford offices, except for the surgery itself. While most surgical procedures are performed on an outpatient basis, some procedures require the more advanced, in-patient care provided in a hospital.

Most cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance policies, though policies do vary. For these procedures, payment is required prior to surgery. Reconstructive procedures, however, are often covered by insurance policies. Contact our office, or your insurance company, to see if your insurance will cover your procedure. Our office can help submit claims to your insurance company. When you schedule your surgery, you will go over your financial obligations with our office manager.
